N S2 StarI sought help from a tax professional because it was the first time my husband and I were filing jointly. Robert did my taxes. It was fine. It cost me $425, and honestly it wasn't worth it-- wasn't anything exceptional and I could have done what he did for free on Turbo Tax.
The reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 3 or 4 is because it took about a month after my appointment to actually file my paperwork. I also had to call a few times to find out what was happening with my files because after my appointment I heard nothing for weeks.Friday 14th April 2017
Brian Blumberg5 StarI've used Tempchin & Associates for years and have worked with Rob personally to help me navigate through my taxes. They always have time for my inquiries and never rush through anything with me when I have questions. I've been so pleased that we now use them for both personal and several business returns each year.Wednesday 22nd May 2019
Leslie Shah5 StarMy family has worked with the Jordan Tempchin and Associates for more than seven years. This is a multi-generational business. Robert Tempchin, Jordan Tempchin's son, serves the practice and serves it superbly. Jordan Tempchin and Associates manage my business accounting as well. Robert is unfailing in addressing my questions. I am confident in their work. Jordan identified a simple tax error from several years prior to our conducting business together. Taxes are never simple. Jordan Tempchin and Associates know to look for opportunities and responsibilities in the tax code. They appealed to me from the get go with a clear, well written advertisement of their services. I have referred many friends to Jordan Tempchin and Associates. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with these skilled accountants.Monday 11th July 2016
James Turner1 StarI had a few specific issues regarding my taxes due to being in the military reserves as well as getting married and my wife and I moving to Maryland. We had an hour long in person appointment with Robert to discuss all of our concerns during which I provided all documentation available at the time.
Fast forward two years later I get a letter from the IRS saying I owe thousands of dollars for undeclared income. Come to find out he filed my taxes without my military W-2.
Regardless or not if he had it at the time. He did not take the time to review his notes prior to submitting. I can not electronically prove that I provided it to him but I remember giving him all the paperwork I had in person and then later with savings and 1095-Bs. Everyone understands what a W-2 is and I find it very hard to believe I didn't give it to him. Even if I hadn't he still did not do the professional thing and take the time to review my filing prior to submitting. We hire CPAs to do the complicated things we can't do for ourselves. So if he can't even safety check you to make sure he has all of your income then what are you hiring him for?Wednesday 8th November 2017
Jordan Gary1 StarMy company has done business with this firm since 2013 and has found them difficult if not impossible to have a working relationship with. I have on multiple occassions emailed my contact on the firm to only have my emails ignored until my business partner who is a personal client of the firm is included on the email.
Moreover, we recently received a bill more than 10 months old for services that had no description of the charges. When asked to present a detailed accounting of the charges, we were handed another invoice for the same amount which said "2015 Corporate Tax Return Filling" with no further description. For the past 32 days I have emailed and called the firm to speak to someone about this invoice and have been ignored the entire time.
Today when I called at 10:05a, I was told both accounts receivable and our accountant were not in yet, because "the office opens at 10am, but most people don't arrive until after 10:30am". I called back after 2p and still was unable to reach either party.
This is not how a firm should treat its clients - you can get better service pretty much anywhere else.Thursday 23rd February 2017
